Level Camp 2017
Level Camp (22nd - 24th February)
The annual Level Camps this year saw the Secondary Threes and Twos testing their mettle and moving out to various locations for their 3D2N residential camps, while the Secondary Ones got to foster stronger bonds among themselves and with the teachers in school.
The Sec 3s went to Cherryloft Resorts Loyang and participated in activities such as cycling around Pasir Ris Park and learning about the mangroves in their classes. They also trekked in MacRitchie Reservoir as part of their Orienteering session. The students helped to clean up the Marina Reservoir as they participated in the Kayak and Clean Programme partnering Project Blue WaVe of PA Water-Venture.
Students in Secondary Two left their comfort zone and stayed over at the Boy’s Brigade / Girl’s Brigade campsite this year. They explored “jungles” of MacRitchie Reservoir and even had an Adventure race. Students also had a go at Dragon boating and Kayaking at the iconic Marina Reservoir. Students also took part in many other team bonding activities and were introduced to outdoor cooking, cooking local delicacies such as Muah Chee!
Through team-building activities, the Secondary One students got to discover more about their own strengths and abilities and more about their friends, while still in “Homebase” aka school.
Through it all, all the students exhibited and put our Brooksian GIFTED values into action through persevering both individually and as a team throughout the camps.
Working together is never easy but these young campers certainly overcame challenges they faced and grew from these experiences!
