Education and Career Guidance (ECG)

Education and Career Guidance (ECG) is about equipping students with the necessary knowledge, skills and values to make informed decisions at each key education stage for successful transition from school to further education or work, and hence to manage their career pathways and lifelong learning throughout their lives. Through ECG, social emotional competencies and qualities of proactivity, adaptability and resilience are developed to prepare students for the 21st Century.

The goals of ECG are to:
  1. Enable the individual to explore viable education and career options through the provision of accurate and comprehensive information
  2. Nurture one’s self-awareness, self-directedness and life skills to set wise goals, to continually learn, and add values to their future workplace
  3. Inculcate an appreciation for the values of all occupations and how they contribute to the well-functioning of society
  4. Equip our students with skills and means to positively engage their parents and other career influencers

Some activities/programmes that we had:

Information & Panel Session at Google

On 20 April 2016, 5 Secondary Two girls went for an Information & Panel Session at Google, Singapore. Googlers shared about the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) landscape and what Google is about. The girls also had the opportunity to ask Googlers about STEM education and career options. They also had a tour of the famous Google Office. The girls were very excited to see the office and took lots of pictures. They were also inspired by the sharing and want to go and work in Google office in the future.
